"Perteneció a la segunda generación de apóstoles. Un hombre con educación, un intelectual de su época. Se lo menciona raramente en el Nuevo Testamento, y sin embargo su influencia fue notoria en la iglesia primitiva. Conozcamos a este Apolos. Hechos 18: 24-281 presenta a este joven judío como ciudadano de Alejandría, la segunda ciudad del Imperio Romano de ese tiempo y llamada así en honor a Alejandro Magno. La ciudad, hogar de muchos judíos inmigrantes, fue el lugar donde se realizó la traducción y producción de la Biblia Septuaginta.
