Abstract
"A concepção atualmente predominante em áreas como a filosofia da mente, as ciências cognitivas e as neurociências acerca da natureza da percepção sensorial deriva da noção “representacionista” de que “idéias-perceptos”, ou “idéias-sensações”, são, como dizia DESCARTES, “afecções da mente” - de DESCARTES de que idéias-perceptos são “afecções da mente” - isto é: afecções de que a própria mente tem consciência. Tal noção foi adotada de modo praticamente unânime pela filosofia moderna - de GALILEU, HOBBES, DESCARTES etc. a até mesmo KANT. Se a mente tem consciência do percepto apenas enquanto objeto intencional “interno”, isto é, enquanto modificação mental, então o mundo percebido - o único, aliás, que conhecemos - adquire uma aura de irrealidade" ["The currently predominant design in areas such as philosophy of mind, cognitive science and neuroscience about the nature of perception derives from the notion of "representational" that "ideas-percepts," or "ideas-feelings" are, as Descartes said, "mind diseases" - of Descartes that ideas- percepts are "diseases of the mind" - that is, conditions that the mind itself is aware.
