Abstract
"Este estudo tem como objetivo relatar a experiência da implantação de ações de humanização com foco no óbito do paciente. Trata-se de um relato de experiência da Comissão Permanente de Humanização de um hospital privado de São Paulo, realizado no período de maio de 2005 a setembro de 2006. O fluxo do óbito foi analisado pela comissão, que propôs para a diretoria do hospital ações de melhoria em pontos do fluxo considerados não adequados para o processo. A diretoria aprovou as sugestões e a implantação das seguintes ações decorreu no prazo de 16 meses: mudança do local do necrotério, treinamento dos colaboradores para o acolhimento dos familiares enlutados, implantação da sala da família e desenvolvimento de folder de orientações para familiares. A preocupação com o óbito visa oferecer assistência humanizada ao paciente independentemente de qual fase do ciclo vital ele se encontra" ["This study aims to give an account of the experience of introducing actions of humanization with a focus in the patients’ death. This is a report of experience of the Permanent Commission of Humanization of a private hospital of Sao Paulo, carried out in the period May 2005 - September 2006. The flow of death was analyzed by the Commission, which proposed the hospital board the implementation of actions for improving points of the flow considered not appropriate to the process. The board approved the suggestions and the introduction of the following actions, which were implemented in a 16-month period: change of the location of the mortuary, training collaborators to give humane support to mourning relatives, implementation of a family room and the elaboration of a flyer with instructions for relatives. Caring for the death process is something aiming to implant a humanized presence to patients no matter the phase of the vital cycle they are in"]
