Abstract
"Este artículo busca explicitar y hacer más comprensible la tesis del antropólogo francés René Girard según la cual la religión es la matriz de la cultura. Tesis que aumenta su novedad e interés cuando se relaciona estrechamente a ella una explicación del mecanismo de violencia presente en el ámbito humano. El punto de arranque del escrito es la evidencia del carácter imitativo del deseo humano que conduce a las personas inevitablemente a conflictos que pueden ser resueltos de manera violenta, instaurándose una perspectiva de venganzas generalizadas que amenazan con la desarticulación del grupo social. En este punto, el artículo se encamina a precisar la dinámica del mecanismo de violencia, el surgimiento de la religión y el origen de las otras instituciones humanas que tienen como paradigma la institución religiosa. Finalmente, a partir de los planteamientos propios del cristianismo, se intenta proponer una alternativa a la violencia presente en las sociedades contemporáneas." "This essay would try to make more comprehensible the thesis of the French anthropologist René Girard which states that religion is the matrix of culture. The thesis gathers more newness and interest because it states a closer relationship between the mechanisms of violence in the human environment. It all starts, following this thesis, in the evident imitative character of human desires which induce individuals to unavoidable conflicts resolved through violent manners. Then, takes place a sequence of generalized vengence that could threaten the social group with desintegration. At this point, the essay defines the dynamics of violent mechanisms, the appearance of religion and the origins of other human institutions whose paradigm is the religious institution itself. Finally, this essay proposes an alternative to the actual violence in our socities today, in accordence with the principles of Christianity."
