Abstract
"El mundo requiere alternativas y no sólo regulaciones. No es suficiente con rehabilitar un sistema, se trata de transformarlo. Es un deber moral, y para comprenderlo, adoptar el punto de vista de las víctimas permite a la vez hacer una constatación y expresar una convicción. La constatación es que las crisis en su conjunto, la financiera, la alimentaria, la energética, la hídrica, la climática, la social, provienen de una causa común, y la convicción es que podemos transformar el curso de la historia. La constatación Cuando 850 millones de seres humanos viven por debajo de la línea de pobreza, y el número aumenta; cuando cada veinticuatro horas decenas de millares de personas mueren de hambre; cuando desaparecen día tras día etnias, modos de vida, culturas, y se pone en peligro el patrimonio de la humanidad; cuando el clima se deteriora y surge la pregunta de si vale la pena vivir en Nueva Orleans, en El Salvador, en el Sahel, en las islas del Pacífico, en Asia Central y en la orilla de los océanos, no podemos hablar sólo de crisis financiera" ["The world needs alternatives and not just regulations.
