Abstract
"Every day domestic and foreign media reports document in a terrifying and irrefutable way how urgent the need is to work for human rights. New fields of conflict have been added, for example in the course of progressive globalisation or of intercultural and interreligious controversies. At the same time the notion of the unconditional character of the protection of human dignity is being exposed to criticism from many sides. Concrete violations of human rights and the disputing over their unconditional validity often go hand in hand. The text «Entitling Human Beings – Human rights and human dignity in a theological-ethical perspective» investigates the specific contribution of the church to human rights and the theological and ethical foundation of the diverse and concrete human rights activities of the FSPC and its agencies.", back cover
