Abstract
The paper investigates the way two different etnict groups living in the same coastal area in Bengkalis, Riau develop their adaptation each other in order to increase their soci0-economic and religious harmony. It is believed that between different groups living in the same place and compete for the same resource, competition is inevitably, but on the other hand both of two groups, Javanese and local Malay also can complete each other to build a fishermen community
