Abstract
Islamic education is a process to build some person holistically, i.e. cognitive, affective, and psychomotor field. It does not discriminate men and women. The discrimination and gender bias merely constructed by culture. However the missinterpretation of Quran also takes a part of the gender issue. It comes from the tradition of some Moslem that interprete the Qur’an not in a comprehensive way. Moreover, it is understood textually and not contextually. This article aimed to explore the gender bias in terms of education process and also the way to solve it. Through the qualitative method this article finds that Islamic education actually gives both men and women a proportional position not only in domestic role but also in public one.
