Abstract
"A partir de un reciente ensayo de Fernando Filgueira (2013), el presente trabajo se propone analizar si México se encuentra ante el fin de una época de modernización conservadora y, en consonancia con la coyuntura latinoamericana, en un giro hacia la izquierda de tono universalista. A través de un repaso por diversos índices económicos, se expone el caso específico de México, considerado un régimen de bienestar dual, y se señalan algunas tendencias que podrían enmarcarse en la hipótesis de cambio de época ya mencionada, pero también muchas otras que hacen albergar dudas fundadas sobre el fin de la modernización conservadora a la que alude Filgueira, ya que el esquema universalista mexicano se aleja mucho del modelo ideal universalista y tiende a reforzar la estructura dualista del régimen de bienestar mexicano. Concluye en un dualismo residualizado con un matiz universalista, que bien podría denominarse con el paradójico nombre de “universalismo minimalista”" ["Standing on a recent essay written by Fernando Filgueira (2013), this essay aims to analyze if Mexico is facing the end of an era of conservative modernization, inserted in the Latin American context, in a turn to the left with an universalist tone. Through the examine of economical data, the specific case of Mexico, considered as a dual regime of welfare, shows that there are tendencies that could be framed in the hypothesis of the mentioned change of an era, but there are also many others which contain doubts about the end of the conservative modernization mentioned by Filgueira, concluding in a dualism with a universalist tone, that could be named under the paradoxical name of “minimalist universalism”"]
