Abstract
"En Uruguay al igual que en buena parte de América Latina procesaron una serie de cambios en los sistemas de protección social que supusieron revisiones de aquellas arenas de políticas sociales estratégicas para la integración e inclusión social. En ese escenario regional las dos últimas administraciones a cargo de los gobiernos de izquierda del Frente Amplio (2005-2015), impulsaron serias transformaciones de la matriz de seguridad social dirigidas a restablecer algunos de los clásicos rasgos proteccionistas nacionales y, a la vez, reinstalar instrumentos tradicionales de redistribución de beneficios socioeconómicos. En este contexto político de modificaciones de las principales políticas sociales, el presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la pertinencia del sistema uruguayo de bienestar para atender las necesidades y riesgos de los distintos estratos sociales, en particular de aquellos en situación de pobreza y/o con altas chances de empobrecerse. En definitiva se pretende relacionar el esquema de protección social con la estructura de vulnerabilidades a las que están expuestos los distintos sectores sociales" ["In Uruguay, as in much of Latin America was indicted a number of changes in the social protection systems which involved a review of those arenas of strategic social policies for integration and social inclusion.
