Abstract
"A ética aplicada é um orientador para uma ação consciente nos padrões sócio-culturais. Designa responsabilidades aos indivíduos, partindo do pressuposto que o ato é de livre escolha, o agente é responsável por suas decisões e conseqüências (1). Desde os princípios da enfermagem moderna, a ética configura como questão primordial na sua prática, exigindo do enfermeiro competência profissional e pessoal. Questões envolvendo a terminalidade requerem uma reflexão sobre o entendimento cultural e técnico em relação ao que a morte representa para a pessoa e familiares, a fim de poder estar apto para se manter uma conduta ética e humanizada. Técnicas de reversão da morte e as destinadas a dar um cuidado de melhor qualidade nas situações de doenças terminais têm sido alvo de estudos e discussões. O objetivo desse trabalho é caracterizar a produção científica na última década sobre bioética e cuidados paliativos, por meio de revisão da literatura em bases de dados eletrônicos utilizando as palavras-chave “cuidados paliativos” e “bioética”. Foi elaborado um instrumento para caracterizar os artigos, apontar a contribuição teórica, prática e limitações dos estudos. Concluiu-se que os artigos analisados se reportam às reflexões que envolvem a tecnologia e o cuidado humanizado e o sentido da morte para pacientes, famílias e profissionais. Quanto às contribuições práticas, os autores recomendam priorizar a formação e prática para o gerenciamento dos cuidados paliativos, considerando o aspecto biopsicossocial e espiritual como condição para qualidade de vida; promovendo o relacionamento interpessoal e a comunicação entre os que cuidam e os que são cuidados" ["Applied ethics is a guide for a conscious action in social-cultural standards. From the beginnings of modern nursing, ethics figures as a primordial aspect of its practice, demanding nurses to have professional and personal competence. Questions regarding life terminality apply to a reflection on cultural and technical understanding regarding what death represents to each person and her relatives, for us to be able to have an ethical and humane attitude. Techniques for death reversal and those aimed at giving a better-quality care in situations of terminal diseases have been the object of studies and discussions. The aim of this work is to characterize the scientific production in the last decade on bioethics and palliative care, by means of a literature survey in electronic databases using the keywords “palliative care” and “bioethics”. An instrument was prepared to characterize the articles and to point to their theoretical and practical contribution and limitations of studies found. We conclude that analyzed articles refer to reflections that involve technology and humanized care and the sense of death for patients, families and professionals. As for the practical contributions, the authors recommend prioritizing the training and practice of palliative care management, considering the aspect biopsychosocial and spiritual as a condition for quality of life, promoting interpersonal relationships and communication of those who care with those who are cared"]
