Abstract
Scholars recognize that entrepreneurs may encounter different ethical issues and pressures for corporate social responsibility (CSR) than managers in larger corporations. This has fostered a fair amount of research aimed at better understanding ethics in entrepreneurial settings and a small number of studies examining CSR in entrepreneurial firms. We review research conducted on ethics and CSR in the United States, discussing what researchers conclude from their studies, raising questions about this research and concluding with recommendations for future research that draws more heavily on theoretical frameworks in the field of Business and Society.
