Abstract
"O presente artigo versa sobre alguns aspectos bioéticos do Banco de Perfis Genéticos Criminal Brasileiro.O armazenamento de uma grande quantidade de informações genéticas em banco de dados e o seu uso no auxílio à investigação criminal têm gerado frequentemente vários questionamentos bioéticos relevantes. A partir disso, este estudo discute os aspectos bioéticos relacionados à implantação e utilização desse banco no Brasil. A conclusão a que se chegou foi que, de fato, existem diversas questões bioéticas envolvidas no uso do banco de dados de perfis genéticos criminal. Como exemplo, a possibilidade de vulnerara privacidade, os dados genéticos e autonomia dos indivíduos analisados e incluídos no banco, bem como a discriminação e a estigmatização dos mesmos.E ainda,que essas questões devem ser consideradas e avaliadas para se evitar abusos e desrespeito aos direitos fundamentais e à dignidade humana" ["This article deals with some bioethical aspects of the Brazilian Criminal Databank of DNA Profiles. The storage of a large amount of genetic information in database and its use to aid criminal investigation have often raised several relevant bioethical questions. From this, this paper discusses the bioethical aspects related to the implementation and use of that databank in Brazil. The reached conclusion was that there are really several bioethical aspects involved with the use of genetic profiles criminal databank. As example, the possibility of letting vulnerable those analyzed and included people in the databank in the following aspects: their privacy, genetic data and autonomy, as well as the discrimination and stigmatization of them. And yet, these issues should be considered and evaluated to prevent abuse and disrespect for fundamental rights and human dignity"]
