Abstract
"O presente artigo pretende mostrar a importância de um pintor não somente no âmbito artístico das tendências modernas da pintura norte-americana como também sendo um importante ponto de apreensão da cultura Armênia, permeada pelo momento de guerras que assolavam o país no qual Gorky passou sua infância. Sendo assim, através do estudo das obras de Arshile Gorky, é possível captar um período importante na história de seu país, o qual repercutiu profundamente nos temas escolhidos pelo autor e nas suas escolhas posteriores de vida, culminando no seu suicídio em 1948" ["The not only present article aims to show the importance of a painter in the artistic context of modern trends of American painting as It is also a major point of concern of the Armenian culture, permeated by the time of wars that ravaged the country in which Gorky spent his childhood.
