Abstract
Ethics is a well established discipline as the science or study of human conduct, individual as well as corporate.1 Soman Das while talking about ‘Christian ethics in a context’ relates it to ethos and adds, “Etymologically, ethics have the onerous task of unveiling or unmasking the real reality as against the apparent reality – maya – which so often deceives and distorts our judgment.”2 Hunter P. Marbry in his work Christian Ethics: An Introductory Reader deals in detail with the concept and models of ethical behaviour where he refers specially to ‘liberation model’ which has developed in recent years, particularly in the developing world. According to him the roots of ‘liberation model’ can be seen historically in the struggles of the oppressed people who wanted to be free from dependence and exploitation.
