Abstract
"La psicología pastoral en las comunidades eclesiales de hoy Lo que algunos evangélicos latinoamericanos y algunos católicos europeos llamamos psicología pastoral1 se conoce también por otros nombres. Cuando egresé del Seminario Evangélico de Teología de Matanzas, Cuba, en 1952, nuestro profesor, el doctor René Castellanos, había traducido lo que en los Estados Unidos se llamaba pastoral counseling como psicoterapia del consejo. Mientras estaba en Francia realizando mis estudios doctorales en la Faculté de Theologie protestante de Montpellier, me encontré con el libro de E. Thurneysen, Doctrine de la cure d’ame (Doctrina de la cura del alma).2 Cura del alma es un término utilizado también en alemán (seelsorge). Al llegar a la Argentina descubrí que a esta materia se la llamaba psicología pastoral; por tanto, adopté ese nombre hasta hoy. Otros nombres de esa disciplina son práctica curativa,3 cuidado pastoral,4 práctica pastoral, poiménica, asesoramiento pastoral, sanidad interior, etc. Quiero hacer un breve comentario sobre la sanidad interior. No hay evidencia de que exista un ser humano interior, separado del hombre/mujer en su totalidad, salvo en forma imaginaria, por ejemplo, como expresa San Pablo en Romanos 7. Por tanto, no se debería intentar la cura de nuestra parte “interior”, dejando intacto al resto del ser humano.
