Abstract
"dependently of each other, but with common themes of discussion of ethics from different traditions across Asia. There are two papers from Brazil, one on the attitudes of dentists towards reporting abuse of children to authorities. Although it is required by law to do so, Monica and her colleagues found they did not. Their justifications may have taken the form of various ethical arguments, but the papers of Sawa and Konstantin review different approaches towards making ethical decisions. How do we balance the interests of individuals with the broader interests of the community? There is a discussion of utilitarianism and biocosmology. From what perspective should we take? The paper by Saima explores the views of teaching from the side of both a patient and a medical doctor educating students."
