Abstract
The article explores the existence of Yogyakarta,one of the few rest kingdom in Indonesia, which is said strongly influenced by its local leader. Politically, cultural leader also be political leaders in this special provinces, as the fruit of the partneship and also negotiation between the king in the past and Indonesian political leader during the independene war. The paper emphasizes, as the special region with the patron-client culture within the community and the sultanate, the leadership system gives the strong sensein accepting religious pluralism.
