Abstract
This paper compares the curriculum of Islamic science that is applied on Islamic religious schools in Aceh, known as Dayah,which is still traditional and modern. This is research is important because Aceh is the oldest educational institutions and dominant in Aceh, so that science curriculum change and development of Islam in Aceh would affect the Islamic knowledge in Indonesian development in general. In conducting this study, the authors made some observations directly on Dayah-traditional and modern Islamic boarding school, as well as studying the documents and books that contain information about the issues discussed. In accordance with the times, in Aceh has emerged new Dayahs implementing a new curriculum that is different from the traditional Dayahs. New Dayahs introduce curriculum that are indirectly related to Islamic curriculum such as mathematics, natural science, science sosal, foreign languages (other than Arabic) began to be taught in modern Dayah. In addition, modern Dayahs are also found on the side of Dayah management in general.
