Abstract
This article discusses the Ibn Arabi's thought about hell. He divided hell into two categories, al-Nar Allah (God’s hell) which is within human’s soul and al-Nar Lahab (the flaring hell) which is the real punishment to burn the sinners. He also divided people who inhabit the hell into two groups, temporary inhabitants and permanent inhabitants. Temporary inhabitants are the believers who commit a sin but get forgiveness from Allah. Whereas permanent inhabitants are unbelievers such as kuffar, munafiqun and musyrikin. However, Allah is capable to change this torment of hell into the comfortable place for both groups, especially for the second group.
