Abstract
At present there is a tendency for the decline in water quality in several regions, especially urban areas. Mendawai Village is located in Pahandut District, Palangkaraya City is a densely populated residential area. This area is a swamp area prone to river overflow which functions as a city drainage. The research objective was to determine the type and level of damage to groundwater and swamp water, and the formulation of strategies and policies in the management of groundwater and swamp water. The method used to determine the quality of groundwater and swamp water is by laboratory tests. The formulation of strategies and policies was obtained from the analysis of primary data obtained from in-depth interviews and identification of the quality of groundwater and swamp water. The result of the research shows that groundwater samples were indicated to be lightly polluted with a pollution index value at point 1 of 2,293; point 2 is 3.66; point 3 is 1.78; point 4 is 2.47; point 5 is 2.76; point 6 of 3.18; point 7 is 2.59; point 8 is 1.31; and point 9 of 3.493, Water Quality Standard Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 32 of 2017, while swamp water is indicated to be mild to moderate polluted with a point 1 pollution index value of 4.87; point 2 of 4.52; point 3 is 4.14; point 4 is 9.71 and point 5 is 9.23, Standard Quality of Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001, from the data it is known that pollution that occurs in swamp water contributes to the contamination of groundwater. he formulation of strategies and policies for the local government with the presence of polluted groundwater points is necessary to do domestic wastewater treatment such as IPAL and awareness of disposing garbage in its place. Through this research, it can be seen that groundwater in the settling villages is not feasible to use for community clean water and as an input for the government there is a need for domestic wastewater treatment to reduce groundwater pollution and socialization of public awareness to care about the surrounding environment. The influence of domestic activities has a large influence on the type and level of damage to groundwater and swamp water seen from the high value of the parameters of clean water quality standards and the need for cooperation between communities and local government in environmental management.
