"El pasado mes de septiembre los miembros del Foro de Berlín propusieron un tema provocador para su encuentro anual: ¿existe una ética económica europea? Se podría dar por zanjada la cuestión respondiendo que no hay ni siquiera ética económica y, por lo tanto, que ni la hay europea ni de ningún otro lugar. Pero, afortunadamente, eso no es cierto. Y no sólo porque ya Aristóteles o Adam Smith ligaran economía y ética, sino porque desde el último tercio del siglo pasado un potente movimiento de ética económica y empresarial surge en Estados Unidos, pasa a Europa y se extiende sobre todo por América Latina, Japón, China e India.
