Abstract
This article discusses some aspects of liberalism thought of Inkarussunnah in Indonesia and Malaysia. Basically, Inkarussunnah is Islamic movement that only uses Al-Quran as the law source and akidah. This group reject to use hadith as the law source because hadith is considered as the source of Muslim disunity. In Indonesia, the movement of Inkarussunnah increased in 1970s. Some figures of this religious sect are Abdul Rahman, Moch. Ircham Sutarto, Nazwar Syamsu and Dalimi Lubis. Meanwhile, in Malaysia this movement developed in 1980s pioneered by Kasim Ahmad. The author argues that the movement of Inkarussunnah both in Indonesia and Malaysia has some similarities such as liberal interpretation of Al-Quran and denying hadith as the source of Islamic law.
