Abstract
This paper employs the semiotic research-interpretive paradigm and qualitative methodology in exploring Madjid's thought as written in his fundamental political agenda about education, which is by increasing the value of the purity of human being given from God. This is related to the concept oftarbiyah and fitrah as keywords of Islamic education with the goal offostering the whole person development through character building as well as the development of piety to Allah.
