AbstractWhen value system is permanently changing in our society, family as the value do attain a lot of attention of researchers in Lithuania and foreign countries. The goal of this study was to examine the influence with age, gender and Catholic faith on the choice of family as the value. It was hypothesized that there would be some differences in importance of family as the value in different groups of participants according to age, gender and Catholic faith. Participants were 118 people living in the parish. The measure consisted of anonymous questionnaire measuring three basic values (Work, Family and Faith). Participants were asked to mark the importance of all three values on Likert 5-point scale. Our findings confirmed the hypothesis. Family as the value was more important for older (33-39 years old) participants (p = 0,007), women (p = 0,001) and for participants following Catholic faith (p = 0,018).
