We live in a confessed post-religious environment which invites us to carry out a profound review of teaching. If we want to provide the right response to this reality, we have to listen and take into account what the new generations are demanding of us. This reflection and pedagogical proposal springs from an interest in and investigation into, the keys which steer spiritual education methods nowadays. Perhaps the biggest risk we are running is that we repeat and reproduce what worked for us before, without taking into account that we live in a new age.

Language Tasks and Mobile Technologies: A Paradigm Shift in Designing Task-Based CALL for Young Language Learners / Activités langagières et technologies mobiles : un changement de paradigme dans la conception des tâches en apprentissage des languesPellerin, Martine (The Canadian Network for Innovation in Education, 2014-05-09)This article examines how the use of mobile technologies (iPods and tablets) in language classrooms contributes to redesigning task-based approaches for young language learners. The article is based on a collaborative action research (CAR) project in Early French Immersion classrooms in the province of Alberta, Canada. The data collection included digital ethnographic observation in the classrooms, students’ artifacts, and interviews with teachers and students. The findings outlined how the use of mobile technologies such as iPods and tablets contributes to redesigning language tasks and activities by helping young learners to create their own learning environment and meaningful language tasks, as well as self-assess and regulate their language learning process. The research also provides evidence of how the use of mobile technologies contributes to redesigning task-based approaches for young language learners that reflect learning principles based on emergent learning theories as well as Vygotskian sociocultural theories in second language acquisition (SLA).

THE PARADIGM OF HEAVEN AND THE PARADIGM OF CONSTELLATION: THE PHILOSOPHY AND THE POETRY IN PLATO’S THE REPUBLICFelten, Fabiano; Molina, Jorge Alberto (UNISC, 2012-06-20)This work is an essay about Πλατωνοσ Πολιτεια, Platonos Politeia – Plato’s Politeia, best known as The Republic. It will examine aspects of his argument about the formation of the human soul by philosophy and by poetry. In this sense, in general, will address the problematic that the hellenistic philosopher relates to the nature of the poetic in the midst of a utopian ideal of political educational establishment of a city. In short, from what the author says, Homer does not belong to a πολις. Pretty far from the platonic theory that conceives truth as a supreme good to be the target of life and that should support human knowledge, poetry, which is removed, according to Plato, from the essential qualities of truth, must be replaced by philosophy - or have his hedonistic purposes removed out in favor of what the philosopher sees as ideal for the formation of a polis. As an argument, Plato develops ethical, moral and epistemological theories, which we will cover on this work.
