Conceção de itinerário de turismo religioso para a cidade de Valongo

Abstract

O turismo religioso está em clara ascensão, uma vez que os turistas cada vez mais procuram produtos autênticos, que neste caso aliam a experiência cultural e espiritual. Ao longo dos tempos, o clero foi um grande possuidor de poder e riqueza, o que transparece nos edifícios monumentais construídos para aquele organismo. Uma significativa quantidade de património construído, visitado por turistas é de natureza religiosa, o que significa que não só as pessoas com algum tipo de religião visitam o património religioso, mas também pessoas interessadas no seu valor arquitetónico e cultural. A literatura científica indica que o que mais atrai os turistas religiosos em termos do património religioso é, sem dúvida, o facto dos imóveis se tratarem de locais sagrados, ou seja, um local associado a algo divino. É, no entanto, também relevante o estado de conservação do local, a sua vertente histórica, artística e cultural. Na cidade de Valongo, o património cultural existente é, na sua grande maioria, de cariz religioso, possuindo Valongo 21 capelas, 6 cruzeiros, 2 calvários e 7 igrejas. O objetivo deste projeto foi criar um itinerário que integrasse património religioso e que permitisse interligar a cidade de Valongo com a cidade do Porto. Foi então criado um itinerário sob o tema das lutas liberais. Esta temática foi escolhida tendo em conta a grande importância destas lutas para ambas as cidades. Com este itinerário pretende disseminar-se os visitantes do Porto para Valongo e, consequentemente, os benefícios da atividade turística para este território.

The religious tourism is clearly on the rise, as tourists increasingly seek authentic products, which in this case combine cultural and spiritual experience. Over the years, the clergy was a large holder of power and wealth, which is reflected in the monumental buildings constructed for that body. A significant amount of built heritage, visited by tourists are religious in nature, meaning that not only people with some kind of religion visit the religious heritage, but also people interested in its architectural and cultural value. The scientific community indicates that what most attracts religious tourists regarding heritage is, undoubtedly, the fact of buildings being sacred places, sites associated with something divine. However, itIs also relevant the conservation status of the site, its historic environment, art and culture. In the city of Valongo, the existing cultural heritage, is mostly religious. Valongo has 21 chapels, 6 cruisers, 2 ordeals and 7 churches. The aim of this project was to create a route that included religious heritage and that ensured an interconnectedness between the city of Valongo and the city of Porto, A route was then created under the theme of liberal fighting. This theme was chosen taking into account the great importance of these struggles for both cities. The objective of creating this route is to disseminate the visitors of Porto to Valongo and, consequently, the benefits of the tourism activity to this territory.
