• Kajang; A Picture of Modesty: An Indonesian Local Belief

      The unique of Kajang ethnic is interesting to be studied by different disciplines. Their belief on the messages stated in “Pasanga ri Kajang” drive their step in running their life simply and wisely. This paper explores the community of Kajang and their religious beliefs and values. The importance of the Pasanga ri Kajang and the existence of Ammatoa as they believe as the messenger are two things that maintain their strong values and believes. Although they claimed to be Muslims, their religious practices are much different with general Muslims. They believe that “je’ne temmapettu; sembayang tellara,” which is meant, more or less, “unbreaka-ble ritual ablution and a never ending prayers” as more important than the ritual religious practice. The concept is not primarily by the principles of Islam, but rather it is based on their attitudes and behaviors of daily life on traditional teachings supporting practices, such as “kalumbusuang” (honesty); “gattang” (consistency); “sabbara” (patience); and “appisona” (sincerity).

      This paper explores the implementation of Islamic law in Indonesia. Islamic law has been established and legally recognized in Indonesian Muslim society which certainly has the power to force the application of Islamic law to the people, especially Muslims. Canons of Islamic law derived from revelation to man; therefore, it is different with the canons of Islamic jurisprudence that there is no compulsion for the implementation involves aspects of human life, especially Muslims. In Indonesia, the canons of Islamic law had been implemented but are still limited in the scope of civil Islam. More specifically related to family law and its implementation is particularly devoted to the Muslim community.

      The ‘Tafsîr al-Qur'ân al-Karîm’ is the result of investigation for at least fifty-three years, ie since the author was 20 years old to 73 years. This interpretation is among of masterpiece work of Mahmud Yunus who has orientation to explain and clarify the instructions contained in the Koran for practiced by Muslims in particular and mankind in general, as a universal guide. The exegesis of 30 juz of the Koran is a work of translation is the most comprehensive one in his time. The comprhensi-onsiveness is due to two things: first translation is done no longer a separate part of the verses or surah-specific chapters, as shades of interpretation in the first generation; and second is the statement-information in the form of footnotes as a complement to provide pemaharnan on the meaning of certain verses.

      This article discusses about the uniqueness of religion among other academic disciplines. Religion is almost exclusively approached as an object of study. This paper presents a descriptive criticism of Islam in Marx's critique of religion. The study then found that Islam and Marxism is essentially a contradiction particularly striking in view of the unity-an. Marx, based on the philosophy of Marxism; man- made ​​religion and religion does not make the man. However, Muslims believe in the spiritual concept of the infinite in which Islam describes the man as the ground; land; ground, or it can be said that religion, in this case, God created man, not vice versa.

      The aspects of local wisdom of Towani Tolotang society can be classified by three aspects, but it could be manifested in concept “Perrinyameng”. Relation to the God, it includes the value of loyalty to Dewata Seuwae and respect to Wa’ as the leader at once. Relation to humanity includes the value of togetherness, peace, social sensitivity, justice and others. Where as, the value of relation to nature is saving nature for human intention. The three given relations of local wisdom implicate greater for lives of Towani Tolotang society, although not all of them is able to apply that value. Studying from local wisdom of Towani Tolotang society, found alternative ideas for conflict solution in Indonesia, “Perrinyameng” to be meant is the will for serious working, highly respected to the human beings, and widely social sensitivity for human’s destiny. This given concept has relevance if it is integrated with values of Islam. “Perrinyameng” is one of the most idealistic concepts to be applicable in handling Indonesia conflicts.

To face the challenge of globalization, religion should be interpreted into five programs: first, the need to develop more than a social structural interpretation of individual interpretation as to understand the specific provisions in the Qur'an. Second is to change the way from subjective into objective way of thinking. Third is to shift the normative Islam to theoretical. Fourth, make the ideas evolved historically. Fifth, make specific formulations and empirical formulation of general revelation.

Freedom is the essence of human beings; usually humans are always free to create him-self. Humans are free to organize, select and can give meaning to reality.
    • Kekuasaan Kehakiman dalam Islam dan Aplikasinya di Indonesia

       Islamic constitution context recognizes three agencies of state power, namely: the executive power (sulthah tanfiziyah), the legislative power (sulthah tasyri `iyah), and the judicial power (sulthah qadha` iyah). During the Rasulullah periods, all three agencies concetrated on one region of power; but during the Khalifah Umar Bin Khattab, the judicial power begin separate caused the Islamic region extends out Arabiah peninsula. Furthermore during the Umar bin Abdul Aziz regime, judicial power especially al-hisbah and al-mazalim can really be enforced in accordance with good public sense of justice. It happened because the law enforcement wer implemented without any selective with each other. Therefore, if the two kind of agencies can also be applied in Indonesia, besides the existing judicial institutions under the Supreme Court that the General Court, the Religious Courts, Military Justice, and State Administrative Court, then the problem of law enforcement and justice can be resolved according to expectations of society.

      Tulisan ini mengeksplorasi pemikiran al-Zamakhsyari tentang kepemimpinan perempuan di ruang publik dalam tafsir al-Kasysyaf. Islam tidak sampai menyuruh isteri untuk tunduk kepada suami sebagaimana wajibnya ia tunduk kepada Tuhan. Sebaliknya, dengan adanya hak-hak yang harus dipenuhi oleh suami terhadap isteri, maka sebagai timbal balik Islam memberikan hak bagi suami untuk ditaati selama tidak bertentangan dengan ajaran agama. Namun, dalam hal kepemimpinan di ruang publik, az-Zamakhsyarîy lebih cenderung menempatkan posisi kaum perempuan di bawah kaum pria. Hal ini tampak pada ungkapannya ketika menafsirkan kata بما فضل الله بعضهم علي بعض  bahwa kepemimpinan itu diberikan oleh Allah kepada pria karena kelebihannya dalam beberapa hal, bahkan az-Zamakhsyarîy menganggap kaum pria mempunyai banyak keunggulan ketimbang perempuan.

It is believed that Adam and Eve were both active in the cosmic drama, men and women have the potential to achieve optimal performance. The implementation of the gender equality based on the perspective of the Qur'an in Islamic law leads to the transformation of Islamic law relating to the issues of the relation of equality between men and women. It is also within professional fields such as the female judge whose produce the legal products based on gender equality .

      Artikel ini membahas kewajiban asasi manusia Perspektif Hukum Pidana Islam. Hukum Islam mendahulukan pemenuhan kewajiban dari pada menuntut hak menjadi salah satu asas hukum Islam. Dalam sistem hukum Islam orang baru memperoleh haknya, Untuk terciptanya keteraturan kehidupan atau terciptanya kemaslahatan dalam masyarakat, maka hukum pidana Islam mengaturnya dengan konsep al- darūriyāt al-khamzah. Konsep ini ialah setiap perbuatan yang dimaksudkan untuk memelihara perkara yang lima, yaitu perkara agama (dîn), jiwa (nafs), akal pikiran (aql),dan keturunan (nasb), serta harta benda (māl). Istilah ini juga dalam hukum Islam dikenal dengan kewajiban Asasi Manusia yang tersimpul dalam al- ḍarūrî al-khamzah (primer). Hak dan kewajiban ḍarurîyāt, yaitu hak dan kewajiban yang amat menentukan di dalam hidup dan kehidupan duniawi ataupun ukhrawi. Jika itu tidak terujud, kehidupan manusia akan kacau balau.

      This paper discusses about the characteristic of Hadith book written by on of scholars of archipelago named Sheikh Muhammad Yasin Al-Fadani which is the book of Arba'una Haditsan min Arba'ina Kitaban an Arba'ina Syaikhan. This study shows that the motivation of al-Fadani wrote this book iscause follows the predecessor scholars who compiled the book with forty hadith. This book have some characteristics;first, before presenting the honor tradition, its beginning with naming as the main reference book and author. Then the description of the genealogical chain of transmission that is long enough. The length of the description of this sanad is caused the explaining by al-Fadani is not departing from Imam mukharij as pentadwin hadith, but starting from Al-Fadani own. Secondly, when referring to the theory or concept of the preparation hadith method, the preparation book of Al-Arba'una Haditsan is follow Mustakhraj method. In terms of quality of knowledge, al-Fadani widely recognized for both of Arab scholars and the archipelago as scholar who mastered the science of hadith, especially sanad of hadith.

      This article reveals on customer's assessment on alumni competence from Islamic Institute for Teacher Training and General Institute for Teacher Training (LPTK) in the major of English, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economic Education, and Counseling. The research object consisted of 92 alumni who work as the teacher. Research respondents are 24 heads and vice principals in SMA / Madrasah Aliyah and Junior High School / State Junior High School. Data were collected by questionnaire. Data processing with t-test, and got result 0.006 (less than 0,05) which means there is a significant difference on the competence between alumni of the general and Islamic institute of teacher’s training base on customer assessment. The calculation of eta squared got value 0.086 that means there the difference of teacher’s competence is in the middle category.

Of social conflict, can lead to violence on the grounds of blasphemy, which is triggered by the presence of the social activities of religious communities or followers of certain religious ideas are somewhat different or perceived menyempal (non-mainstream) of the religion practiced in general (mainstream) in the life of Indonesian society. Conflict is often the case in Indonesia in recent years often contain a complex load. Arguably, political charged presumably still dominant influence, in addition to the problems and feelings suppressed disappointment so far.

      As a religion of revelation, Islam has a set of teachings contained the teachings of monotheism or the oneness of God. It also has systems and provisions that govern all human life. Allah states that Islam is a blessed religion. People who believe it will get salvation in the hereafter. And anyone denies it would be classified as the losers. Literally, Islam has several meanings, among others:“Al istislam” (surrender), “As Salamah” (safety), “As Salam” (safe and prosperous), “As Silmu” (peace), and “Sullam” (saved). The Koran firmly stated that all religions revealed to the Prophets and Messengers before Muhammad was essentially Islam. Diverse manifestations, but the core of all the previous religions was the devotion to the One Being, namely God.

      This paper presents Sheikh Daud al- Fatani’s thought on the concept of Musharakah in his book Furu 'al-Masa'il and referred specifically to the Kitabal-Shirkah. How musyarakah generally applied in Malaysia's Islamic banking system is the focus of this paper. In the same period, cross-references with the valid views of jurists of al- Shafi'i school of thought are also applied. Moreover, the concept of Musharakah is presented in his book “Furu 'al-Masa'il” is still considered relevant and applicable, including in the field of Islamic banking and finance from the past, present and future.

      This article elaborates on the implementation of character-based science education at the Institute of Parahikma Indonesia (IPI) Gowa. The results of this qualitative research indicate that the implementation of character education based on the science of wisdom at the Institute of Parahikma Indonesia (IPI) Gowa is always associated with the five pillars of development, which initially has been preceded by the strengthening of students' understanding of the nature of creation itself on earth. Problems encounter includes three aspects, in this case, the science of wisdom that has not been socialised widely, the understanding of lecturers who have not maximized, and the limitations of students in understanding the effects of several factors. The solution then is to intensify the integration of the science of wisdom on the five pillars of development in a civilized, intelligent, and thriving shrine.
