      This article describes the development of Islamic financial institutions in Indonesia recently. It raises the need for a variety of banking financial system. By the increasing in Islamic financial institutions, the market share of Islamic economy will eventually grow. The growth adds a large capitalization of accumulated capital. Large funds will seek investment placement forms that vary in line with the desired portfolio. One solution to the needs of the accumulated fund is the issuance of bonds, because the investments instruments that have the big market share are obligation. Therefore, issuers and investors as the market participants should be able to know definition and differences of each bond issuance
    • Optimizing The Competitiveness of Return on Mudhârabah Time Deposit in Improving Public Interest to Invest in Islamic Bank

      The aim of this study is to explain the calculation of return on mudhârabah time deposit for the depositors of Islamic banks, and the provision of a fair return to the depositors without leaving any shariah elements. These two issues have become urgent to be discussed in this study, because if their money is deposited in Islamic banks, it will increase the amount of funds available in the Islamic bank, and the amount of funds available directly influence the size of the investment return on Islamic banks. If the results of the large investment, the returns will be obtained by the depositors are also large, and vice versa. In addition, it will also create a sense of calm and peace for themselves, because the money they have deposited in Islamic bank is not only quaranteed by the gorverment but also the system is run in accordance with the shariah of Islam.

      This paper discusses about Islamic organizations and its influence on the formation and development of Islamic law in Indonesia. The idea to incorporate Islamic law into the reality of the lives of the people of Indonesia is in line with the call for reform of Islamic law which arises in most Mulsim countries since the early twenty century. Institutional and constitutional reforms at the level of religious organizations such as Muhammadiyah, Nahdatul Ulama (NU), and the Islamic Union (Persis), which are often regardd as the modern movement of Islamic organizations in Indonesia.
    • Organizational Culture and Quality of PTKIN Services Study of IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo

      This article mainly aims to find out the right model for improving service quality and satisfaction of users of the Islamic Higher Education Institution (PTKAIN) by involving the variables of Quality of Service organizational culture. This study is expected to make a real contribution to the development of the field of education management science, especially in relation to the causality model of organizational quality of service to the satisfaction of users of Islamic higher education institutions. The results showed that there was a positive direct influence on Organizational Culture and Service Quality on Satisfaction of Users, such as the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Sultan Amai Gorontalo. The results of this study shows that there has been in line with the theory put forward by Philip Henslowe, i.e., the impression obtained from the level of knowledge and understanding of facts regarding people, products or situations are very much determined by the culture of people producing goods and services, maintaining service quality and ensuring the fulfillment of user expectations.

      This article mainly aims to find the right model for improving service quality and user satisfaction of State Islamic of Religious Higher Education Institutions (Pendidikan Tinggi Keaagamaan Islam Negeri - PTKIN) by involving the organizational culture of Service Quality. This study purposefully contributes to the development of the field of education management, especially those related to the causality model of organizational culture.       This article is intended to fill the gap scholarly studies about radical movements in the university environment. This study is a qualitative research with phenomenological approach involving six (6) lecturers of UIN Alauddin Makassar as a research subject. From the interviews, it has been found out that the lecturers had the same view of radicalism in terms of positive and negative. Apparently, radicalism is growing because it begins with less understanding of religious thoughts among students which is triggered by their immature pattern of thinking as well as their great curiosity. Basically, all respondents consider this issue is a serious and often discussed with their students. Universities and lecturers, therefore, are encouraged to direct and guide the students to avoid the development of radical ideologies.

      Islamic teachings essentially give great attention and honorable position to women. Politics in Islam known as as-siyasah are all human activities related to the settlement of various conflicts and creating security for society. While the leader of a person who has the skills and advantages, especially the skills or advantages in one area so he is able to influence other people to jointly perform certain activities for the achievement of one or several purposes. The opening of a widespread democratic system in Indonesia provides a good opportunity for the development of national politics. One of the indicators of the passage of a democratic political system and to measure the level of public participation in the political field, so the involvement of citizens becomes an absolute requirement for a nation that wants to build with the concept of democracy. Citizen involvement here is interpreted as a comprehensive engagement without distinction between the sexes of both men and women.

      In post conflict period, Moluccas people were re-echoed the desire to be a civilized society and a dignified. Moluccas Community believes that the spirit of Pela-Gandong is able to glue back the kinship that had marred. Pela is cultural friendships which have been institutionalized in every heart, mind, and behavior of the Moluccans, it’s mean that they come from the same culture, although their religion is different. Pela-Gandong is a “mental awareness “of the “orang Basudara” were so strong, so whatever the burden and responsibility of the “orang Basudara” is a shared of responsibility. This Relationship has relevance to the teaching of religion in ukhuwwah concept. Therefore, the embodiment of teaching of Pela and the values which contained it’s none other the practice of religion. Instead, the reluctance to hold of Pela tradition, it’s same as reluctant to implement the values of religion itself.

      Professional lecturers are lecturer professionalism that includes professionalism of teaching, research, and community service. The institution has the responsibility to develop the profession of the lecturer. An important step that can be done by higher education institutions is by developing lecturer profession guidance program covering the field of teaching, research, and community service. The program of developing and fostering the professionalism of the lecturers should be combined with the demands of science, technology, art that develops expansively and qualitatively. The development and professional development of this lecturer can be done through coaching programs based on institutional needs analysis. Programs can be said to succeed if in a lecturer there has been a process of transformation of the program. This transformation process can be seen from two things, namely: (1) improvement of ability in performing a task and (2) behaviour change which is reflected in attitude, discipline and work ethic.

Through PAI teaching and learning, the students is taught belief of God as the basic of their religion, taught al quran and hadits as their way of life, taught fiqih as law signs in doing Islam teaching, taught Islam history as a good life example, and taught ethica as the way of human character.

      Governmental is very important for a community of nations, because the government guarantee an orderly system of life will be realized. In Islam, it is widely known the term “al-siyasah al-syar’iyyah” (religious politics) and formal leadership are so-called caliphate, sultan, Imamat, and uli al-amr. The Qur’an does not specify a particular form and style of government for Muslims; therefore, they have the freedom to choose the form of government. The Qur'an only contains the basic values of ethics and political morality as a foundation of a state or a nation. Government (khalifah), in carrying out development tasks should refer to its functions and duties as the khalifah. That is the responsibility of realizing the benefit for the people based on four basic principles: honesty, justice, discipline, and consultation (democracy).

      Ali Syariati is a world-class and brilliant scientist. He argued that Islam has a very principled nature and rational. Therefore, Islam must be considered as a school of ideology, not as a culture or collection of science. He displayed and introduced his teachings with what is termed as a liberation theology that combines re-interpretations of Islamic beliefs and socio-modern political thought. In addition, he also took an interest in the issue of humanism. He explained in detail and at length about this issue, both in the view of western leaders and intellectuals from the east. He said that today we face four different intellectual streams that states he represents humanism, namely western liberalism, Marxism, existentialism, and religion.

      Kajian ini berupaya menelaah penafsiran tentang ayat-ayat kalamiyah (teologis) ulama Bugis dalam sebuah karya tafsir lengkap 30 juz, yaitu Tafsir Bahasa Bugis karya Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) Sulawesi Selatan dengan pengantar bahasa Bugis Lontara. Dalam kajian ini mencoba mendalami bagaimana penafsiran ulama Bugis terhadap ayat-ayat kalamiyah (teologi), khususnya masalah antropomorfisme (tajsim) terhadap Allah, apakah kecenderungan penafsirannya mengikuti kelompok tradisonal (Asy’ariyah), yang notabene masyarakat pembacanya adalah masyarakat Bugis yang cenderung kepada kelompok tradisional tersebut ataukah kelompok rasional (Mu’tazilah)? Ditemukan bahwa penfasiran-penafsiran dalam tafsir bahasa Bugis tentang ayat-ayat kalamiyah tampaknya sebagian mengikuti penfasiran kelompok tradional (Asy’ariyah), hal itu dilakukan untuk mengajak para pembacanya mengimani ayat apa adanya seraya men-tanzih-­kan Tuhan dari penyerupaan makhluk-Nya. Namun, di lain ayat berusaha menjelaskan dengan penafsiran yang rasionalis.

      This paper is a reflection of the local defense of the religion that had been marginalized by looking further into the state of the local religious marginalization. In its development, the country never abandoned the religion of his intervention. In fact, very close to the state religion. How and through what medium the conquest of the local religion? This question is the focus of this paper by outlining the three sub-themes. First, it is form or variety of ideas in local religious position. Second, the actors involved in local religious positioning. Third, local response, including the existence of local religious elite, associated with differences in religion and culture of the surrounding community. This paper shows that the state has put religion at the ‘manageble’ position. In fact, the position of religion as an important entity is frequently controlled. Similarly, in this paper, it can be found how local communities respond to the presence of local religious so local religion not only placed in the controlled set, but also constantly challenged by the surrounding environment.

      The main purpose of education, according to Madjid as written in his fundamental political agenda about education, is increasing the value of the purity of human being given from God. This is related to the concept of tarbiyah and fitrah as keywords of Islamic education with the goal of fostering the whole person development through character building as well as the development of piety to Allah. This paper employs the semiotic research method and interpretive paradigm and qualitative methodology. This research was based on text analysis by reading text books as sign system. In Indonesian history, education has also raised the idea and the movement of modern nationalism. Therefore, education should be a form of the foremost strategic and productive inventory that should be put on one of the highest levels in the national development priority of Indonesia.

      This paper discusses about the issue of educational character. This issue is sounding in educational sector as a response to any forms of moral decrease of Indonesia as a nation.  Al-Qur’an contains teachings to educate human in order to be a good nation. Its main example is the Prophet Muhammad Saw and his exemplary followers. The educational character which is based on the Quran basically is built through three dimensions: attitude to the Supreme Creator (Allah SWT), attitude to ourselves, and attitude to the others and our environment. Indonesians national identity which has been good character is indicated in the Qur’an with some criteria, namely: unity; that is, to have agreed noble values; work hard, means discipline and good time management, caring; moderate and open minded; ready for struggle and be brave and patient in facing some challenges. Therefore, to define address the educational character based on the Qur’an in the establishing nationhood mostly depends on the roles of: 1) society through strong faith and examples from the Prophet Muhammad Saw; 2) Educational sector through schools and mosques; and 3) the government.

      This paper elaborates about educational character based on Prophet Muhammad Saw’s traditions. Some problems are arising on our youth generation, such as narcotic distribution, free sex, students fighting, etc., make us and education practical to find a solution in order to save the generation. Finding solution for the problems have been mentioned above is not too difficult, since we are serious to study and understand Islam teaching. It is because one of the main objectives of delegating Prophet Muhammad Saw is to repair human character. The Prophet Muhammad Saw) that all his attitude and behaviour are reflection from Al Qur’an has been succeed to build one generation is known as Rabbani, namely the generation who perfect on their belief of God and their character. The qualified education theory is valid theory logically and comes from outdebating source or reference, and the theory is only met in the Quran and the traditions of the prophet Muhammad Saw which are the main theme of this journal.

      Tulisan ini membahas pendidikan karakter berwawasan lingkungan di taman laut Nasional Olele Gorontalo. Realitas sosial di taman laut tersebut menunjukkan adanya pencemaran limbah tinja. Penanganan secara intelektual sudah diupayakan, namun secara moral-spiritual belum diperhatikan dan dikembangkan. Oleh sebab itu, penanggulangannya  perlu dilakukan  melalui pendidikan karakter, dengan cara menghimpun dan merangkai sejumlah  prinsip, nilai, norma, ketentuan hukum dan ajaran agama. Kondisi ini mendorong penulis menggunakan metode survei snowbowling sample, yaitu mempelajari fenomena tentang  upaya penanggulangan pencemaran limbah tinja di kawasan itu  melalui pendidikan karakter berwawasan lingkungan. Terdapat tiga pilar utama pendidikan karakter yaitu; amar ma’ruf, nahi munkar dan tu’minuna bilah. Nilai-nilai inilah yang harus menjadi landasan rasionalitas moral untuk membangun kesadaran masyarakat. Manusia sebagai makhluk  yang paling tinggi derajatnya, memiliki akal pikiran seharusnya menjaga laut dan tetap melestarikannya, bukan merusak atau hanya mengambil keuntungan tanpa memikirkan akibatnya di masa datang.
