Abstract

Th e Dzogchen Teaching is regarded as the most direct and eff ective Path to that which Buddhists call Awakening or Enlightenment. Th is teaching has been repeatedly revealed since the origins of humankind by the so-called Primordial Revealers (Tönpa). Th e last of these was the Buddhist Master Garab Dorje, from whom all present lineages of this teaching derive. It has the peculiarity of being based on spontaneous liberation, which as such is beyond the cause-eff ect relation. Th is paper summarizes its transmission through its fi rst human links.
