egyetemiJohn Wycliffe, the Morning Star of Reformation1 had a great influence on his age, and on the people living in the following centuries. He was not the first man in history to attack the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church, there were many before him, but he had a great influence in Britain, and he basically anticipated all the key doctrines of Reformation: the importance of Bible reading, pious life, personal relationship with God, Lord’s Supper, what the true Church of God is. He had a view about these questions and many others besides these that went against the teachings of the Church at the time. Though he could not achieve as much as Luther, yet he is an important forerunner of the Reformation.
