Abstract

Aufforderung and Erscheinung are the two main concepts of the late Fichte’s doctrine of science. The community in my essay is considered together with the definition of a concept as the pivotal axis of this fundamental part of the transcendental doctrine, formalized in the Sittenlehre 1812. My paper focuses on the ontological content and ethical properties of such a Metaphysics and considers Fichte’s ethical ontology in comparison with the impact it had on contemporary debates on modality, fundamental theology and moral theory.
