AbstractABSTRACT KURNIA NAWANGSARI. NIM. S811308021. Motivation Development on Aqidah Akhlak Score Improvment a Cooperative Learning Model Word Square Type in Al-Azhar Syifa Budi Solo Primary One Umar Bin Khattab Academic year 2015/2016. THESIS. Supervisor I: Dr. Suharno, M.Pd, II: Dr. Akhmad Arif Musadad, M.Pd. Master Program of Education Technology, Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta. The aims of the study are: (1) to improve students’ motivation of primary one Umar Bin Khattab Academic Year 2015/2016 in learning Aqidah Akhlak using Cooperative Learning Model Word Square Type, (2) to improve score and achievement on Aqidah Akhlak of student in primary one Umar Bin Khattab Academic Year 2015/2016. The methode used in this research are two cycles of action class research. Each cycle consists of 2 steps, they are planing, practice, observation, and reflection. The subject are 22 students of primary one Umar Bin Khattab Academic Year 2015/2016, which they are consists of 13 female students and 9 male students. Technic used to collect data are observation, test, and interview. Data analysis applied are descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative. After the research is done, it can be concluded that, (1) the application of Cooperative Learning Model Word Square Type can improve student’ motivation in Aqidah Akhlak primary one Umar Bin Khattab Academic Year 2015/2016. It shows the higher score from previous indicator; before action, cycle one was 48,2% (low), got 73,5% at cycle 1(high), and 93,3% at cycle 2 (very high) and the last has fulfilled motivation improvement indicator until 80%, (2) the application of Cooperative Learning Model Word Square Type can improve student’ achievement in Aqidah akhlak primary one Umar Bin Khattab SD Al-Azhar Syifa Budi Solo Academic Year 2015/2016, that has been proved by: (a) average student’ score rises from before action 74,2 into 88,1 in cycle 1 and 90 in cycle 2, (b) the highest score made by student before action was 93,8 turn into 100 in both cycle 1 and 2, (c) the lowest score was 28,1 before action turns into 60 in cycle 1 ad 75 in cycle 2, (d) students’ achievement minimal passing grade before action was 68,2% and turns into 95,5% in cycle 1 and 100% in cycle 2.
