AbstractNote on back of photo: "Old Silvey, a slave in the household of Silas Condict, Littleton NJ. was a married woman in 1805. Silas Byram Condict inherited Silvey with other slaves. He freed them all before the civil war, but Silvey would not leave the family, so she was paid wages, and when too old to work was supported by the Condict family up to the time of her death. Silvey was a member of the 1st Sunday school in Morris County."
