dc.description.abstractHitherto, the teaching profession is in a transition period. Focus on student centered learning has paved way for many innovations in the teaching – learning arena. Learning is most joyful and effective, when an appropriate blend of pedagogical strategies is used in the course of study depending on the subject. Using single strategies is a by gone process. This paper throws light on how blended learning is not about replacing teachers with technology but about empowering the teachers with much improved working conditions and enriched content matter the changing role of instructors is addressed.it also describes the impact students academic achievement. it gives a peek into the online education in India this paper high lights university of mysore‘s premier pioneering launch of massive open online courses-MOODLE at mysore.
