Réussite athlétique et héritage sportif

Abstract

Cet article aborde la question générique du rôle des transmissions familiales dans l'engagement sportif intensif ainsi que les limites de ce modèle explicatif. Il se fonde sur un travail d’enquête à la fois quantitatif et qualitatif mené dans le cadre d’une thèse portant sur la « fabrication » de l’excellence athlétique. Après avoir analysé le rôle de la socialisation familiale dans l’entrée dans la carrière sportive de haut niveau, l’article aborde la question des conditions de maintien dans la carrière athlétique de haut niveau et d’accès au statut d’athlète de haut niveau « adulte » sous l’angle des stratégies éducatives parentales et des modes de gestion de la « double carrière » sportive et scolaire.

Athletic success and sporting inheritance: family socialization and growth of high-level athletic capitalThis article deals with the question of the influence of the family transmissions on the intensive sports commitment. The approach is both quantitative and qualitative and the investigation was purchased during a thesis concerning the « manufacturing » of the athletic excellence. Having analysed the role of the family socialization in the entrance to the high-level sporting career, the article approaches the question of the conditions of preservation on the high-level athletic career and of access to the status of « adult » top athlete under the angle of the parental educational strategies and the modes of management of the sportive and scholar career.

Logro atlético y herencia deportiva: socialización familiar y desarrollo de un capital deportivo de alto nivelEste artículo trata sobre el papel de las aportaciones familiares en el compromiso deportivo así como los límites de este modelo explicativo. Se basa en un trabajo de investigación, tanto cuantitativo como cualitativo, llevado a cabo en el marco de una tesis referente a la « fabricación » de la excelencia atlética. Luego de analizar el papel de la socialización familiar en el comienzo de una carrera deportiva de alto nivel, el artículo abordará la cuestión de las condiciones de mantenimiento en la carrera atlética de alto nivel y de acceso al estatuto de atleta de alto nivel « adulto » en cuanto a estrategias educativas paternas y modos de gestión de la « carrera doble » deportiva y escolar.
