Belief, Legend and Perceptions of the Sacred in Contemporary Bath
Abstract
The formation of Bath legend has enjoyed some attention in Folklore in recent years (Fear 1992; Clark 1994). This paper, which arises from research conducted as part of the Religions in Bath Project of the Study of Religions Department at Bath Spa University College (see Bowman 1994), presents some ways in which legends and ideas about Bath are being used, recycled and created within the contemporary spiritual scene.
