Abstract
This article explores the question of the political meaning of the term revolution and the relation that has been established and should continue to be established between revolution and freedom. To this effect, the article examines some of the main proposals set forth in this respect by three contemporary thinkers, Hannah Arendt, Alain Badiou and Slavoj iek, with occasional references to Michel Foucault and Antonio Negri. The proposal argued for here is that Arendts notion of revolution and the notions of event and act put forth in the radical political theories of Badiou and iek intersect and necessarily supplement one another.
