One Source Fits All: Authoring Multiple Types of e-Learning Materials from the Same Source

Abstract

This paper proposes a workflow to optimize the creation of online, printable and interactive e-Learning materials. The proposed workflow, developed by the Information Systems Technology Training team at Northern Arizona University, reduces authoring time significantly by generating multiple deliverables from one source. In addition, the workflow greatly improves consistency of e-Learning materials across media. In addition to describing the improved workflow for producing instructional materials, this paper offers suggestions on best practices, potential applications, and resources to implement the workflow.
