The government of Ontario, Canada funded the "Life Long Learning Challenge Project" that resulted in a partnership between Georgian College (Engineering Technology), TV Ontario (public broadcaster) and Random Access Multimedia (a private multimedia firm). The four Internet based courses developed for this project addressed the needs of workers in the auto parts manufacturing sector. The design and production challenges dealt with a variety of learning materials including video clips, interactive quizzes, text/graphics and collaborative team work with supportive communications tools. Piggy-backing on Georgian College's Blackboard system, the instructional designers explored and tested various delivery designs/formats. This paper will present and demonstrate the design and tools used to build the courses.Date
