AbstractProviding essential educational opportunities for students to learn how to apply their knowledge in changing, real world contexts in a variety of fields is becoming an increasingly difficult endeavor for many Universities. However, if properly employed a variety of emerging or maturing technologies can be used to provide these essential educational opportunities. By sharing lessons learned, the University of Antwerp, Belgium and the University of Arkansas, USA provide two examples that illustrate how to strategically use digital video and animation to create critical effective content for both web-based course support and distance learning environments.
