AbstractThe Caixa Econômica Federal - Brazil's federal financing organization, in conjunction with the Distance Learning Laboratory – LED of Federal University of Santa Catarina - UFSC, has created a virtual corporate university as an investment towards constantly improving its human capital. It seems a natural evolution then, that the Caixa would opt for a virtual corporate university model - an internet-based learning platform available to employees at any time of the day or night, from any location with an internet connection. This paper describes the first training program carried out via the Caixa's Virtual Corporate University, from August 20th to December 20th, 2002, administered to 1500 Caixa managers located throughout Brazil.
