Exploring Possibilities for School Practice and Digital Portfolios in an e-Learning Environment

AbstractThe main focus of the project was directed towards embedding school practice and especially the reflective phases in an e-learning platform (Hyperwave eLearning Suite). The one-semester project was carried out in six different subject areas and in six different schools of the region and should yield insight into feasibility, acceptance, and transferability. In the first part of this article the project is described, and then the data is analysed, interpreted and discussed. Although it turned out that the chosen tool (eLS) and the given task resisted fine-tuning in some areas, the outcome offers a number of positive suggestions for an improved design for mainstream school practice.
