Using E-Learning to Provide Safety & Health Training to Workers: A Case Study
AbstractIn the current economic environment, workers have turned increasingly to e-learning to enhance their safety and health on the job. Over the past eight years, the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) has built a web-based training program for the Region IV OSHA Training Institute Education Center. This paper and presentation will examine the particular needs of the safety and health student audience and show how GTRI’s e-learning offerings are meeting these requirements. It will trace the evolution of this developmental effort, identify key challenges and lessons learned, and discuss plans for future course enhancements.
