Abstract
Research on technology enhanced L1 reading and writing instruction is progressing, while research on technology related L2 reading and writing is almost blank. As large number of students entering the public schools without first language as English, computer technology mediated reading and writing instruction would hold promise to better addressing the learning difficulties and meeting the needs of this particular student population. What has been achieved in research on technology enhanced L1 reading and writing instruction may provide guidance for research on that of L2 learners.
