Structuring an Instructional Training Program for Faculty Based on Diffusion of Innovation Theory

AbstractWith consideration given to the factors that affect the diffusion of innovation, a technology training program is being developed by the presenters for faculty at a private liberal arts college. This program is being funded by grant from the Jesse B. Dupont Foundation and is designed to encourage faculty to integrate technology into their instructional activities. The program is to be offered during the summer of 2004. During the session, the presenters will discuss the how they structured the program based on Diffusion of Innovation theory and its success in encouraging faculty to adopt instructional technology.
