Global learning is defined as the combination of global reach, through the use of modern communication technologies, with global perspectives, achieved through interaction of students and faculty living in different countries to produce the global graduate. The global graduate exhibits all the attributes required by accreditation bodies in their chosen program, plus superior communication, teamwork and familiarity with modern communication media along with global savvy. Global savvy is the combination of knowledge and knowledge acquisition skills on geographic, historic, political, economic, linguistic and cultural differences that lead to different perspectives. This symposium is about institution-level course and program transformation to global learning in general along with specific case studies for a number of courses. Guidelines for successful implementation of global learning and the outcomes of some transformed courses will be presented for global discussion.Date
