Abstract
This paper explores two issues in educational teachnology. One is the increasing need for teachers to assume more active and responsible roles in school leadership and governance and the processes of change. The second is one of using technological capacity to help teacher leadership development. Both of these topics have been addressed in a new on-line version of a course on teacher leadership and school improvement that was designed to help teachers develop understanding of and skill in assuming leadership roles. In this presentation this technologically based teacher leadership course will be described, along with implementation steps, assessment measures of effectiveness, and plans for describing the ability of teachers to assume leadership roles within schools when employing technology. SITE participants will be given the opportunity to view the course as developed for students.
