Online calendaring for Education

Abstract

Since the early days of the Internet, online event calendaring and scheduling has been one of the most widely used and cost-effective forms of collaboration. Today, Web-based event calendaring has an important role in education because there is a great need to publicize a complex universe of events to a large distributed audience. The presentation will discuss the ease of creating a campus-wide Web-based calendaring system that integrates event calendaring and group/personal calendaring into a campus portal. In addition, it will articulate the vision of the universal calendaring function for the college campus, including event publication, personal and group scheduling, resource reservation and management, and integration with other scheduling applications.
