AbstractLearnICT is a relatively large research project on the use and effects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education in Iceland. The project extends across all school levels and involves 18 researchers at three universities in Iceland; faculty, master's and doctoral students, who are doing several studies at preschool, primary, and secondary level, as well as in higher education. In this presentation the focus is placed on the primary level and attempt made to identify key questions and observations arising from research at an early stage based on qualitative data from a number of Icelandic schools. A somewhat premature suggestion is made that factors affecting teachers approaching ICT and innovative practices could be viewed at five different levels.
